Care and Cleaning your steel Railroad Spike Meat Turner
The handle of your Railroad Spike Meat Turner comes to you with a coating of matte protective clear enamel to prevent rusting. The last 2-3 inches near the hook are NOT coated to remain food safe. Before your first use, season the hook end by holding it over a heat source for a few seconds and then lightly spray or coat with vegetable oil. Wash your steel Railroad Spike Meat Turner cookware by hand with warm water and mild soap. If needed, use a light scrub brush to clean off stuck-on food. Immediately dry with a towel and coat the hook with vegetable oil before storing. Railroad spikes are NOT stainless steel and this grilling tool WILL rust if left in the elements. If rust forms after extended outdoor exposure, a wire wheel on a hand drill is an excellent way to remove it. If needed, a few strokes from a hand file will re-sharpen the hook point. If your Railroad Spike Meat Turner ever fails, contact me for a replacement or repair. Thank you for your purchase and enjoy!
